Welcome to Shining Together Counselling
A safe, trauma-focused space to heal, grow, and shine — together.
Based in Brisbane and working globally online, we provide structured and culturally responsive counselling for individuals impacted by Complex PTSD, childhood trauma, and domestic or family violence (DFV).
Our trauma recovery process typically unfolds over 3–7 months (about 12–30 sessions, depending on severity), focusing on nervous-system regulation, trauma integration, and the rebuilding of safety, self-trust, and resilience.
Healing begins with one courageous step — and you don’t have to take it alone.

1. Complex PTSD & Trauma Recovery
We support individuals experiencing Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) or long-term emotional distress rooted in childhood trauma, abuse, or chronic stress.
Our sessions combine somatic awareness, structured trauma processing, and evidence-based counselling to help you regulate your nervous system, rebuild emotional safety, and restore self-trust.
Each trauma recovery plan is tailored to your pace and typically unfolds over 3–7 months of weekly sessions — around 12 sessions for moderate trauma, 20 sessions for moderate-to-severe cases, and up to 30 sessions for complex or long-term trauma.

We provide specialised counselling for survivors of domestic and family violence, including emotional, psychological, and coercive-control abuse.
Our focus is on stabilisation, trauma integration, and empowerment, helping you reclaim safety, confidence, and independence.
For clients referred by legal or immigration professionals, we also offer professional counselling reports to support your case when appropriate. -
Many relationship struggles arise from unresolved trauma.
Our trauma-informed relationship recovery sessions help you recognise patterns of fear, control, or emotional disconnection that repeat across relationships.
You will learn to establish healthy boundaries, express needs safely, and cultivate relationships built on mutual respect and trust.
